Compounds are the primary collectable items for the player to obtain in Thrive's Microbe stage. Compounds are used by the microbes' organelles to execute various processes such as the production of ATP.

Compounds can currently be obtained through compound clouds, within a dead cell or as variables in a patch. Depending on the patch the microbe is located different amount of compound clouds wil be found.
